 In February 2006, Al Campos traveled to Memphis, Tennessee. It was a "dream come true." A life changing trip. You see, Al was going to live out a dream, a vision he had, a goal and a rare opportunity. He was on his way to meet with "Boo" Mitchell and soul music legend, Mr. Willie Mitchell, long time songwriting partner & producer for the incredible Al Green.
Al Campos was going to pick up his FINAL MIXES of his upcoming CD entitled, "This Love of Mine." He was given the most rare and important opportunity of a lifetime. His entire record of 11 songs would all be mixed right there in the same studio where Al Green had recorded all of his "Hit Songs," together with Willie Mitchell.
Three wonderful days together with Boo and Willie Mitchell, in the Mecca of soul music, Memphis, Tennessee. On the evening before Al would depart Memphis for Los Angeles, Willie sat him down and had some extremely encouraging words.
In the words of Mr. Willie Mitchell himself, "Al, you don't really know what you've got here. But I do. What you have is a Smash Hit Record!. Every hit record gets through. Some record labels may pass but eventually the right person will hear this record and it will get released. I had a great time on your project. The next record we'll do right here and I'll produce it!"
