Danish Performing Arts students @ San Fernando High School, CA.

On this particular page of my website, I want to present this to you personally, me to you.

inSpire! is about the work I do with the youth. It is a global cultural fusion project, bridging the cultural divide between young students from all over the world, using Performing Arts as the common variable. Exposing students of music, dance & theatre to each others culture, thereby expanding their own personal boundaries, experiences and worldly outlook.

It has been my life experience that music has meant much more to me than just playing an instrument, or playing in a band and gigging. Music has been the vehicle in my life in which I have been “exposed” to the cultures of the world. Different languages, religions, beliefs, attitudes, mentalities, cultures, arts, and much more.

All of this exposure has challenged me to make adjustments in my life. Not so much as to conform but more to try and learn about other ways of doing things, to intergrate without losing myself and the qualities of my culture that I find enriching. This is what I try to teach my students as we play music, rehearse, travel & meet people from other countries, speaking other languages.
